Pediatric Dentistry in Washington, DC
A first visit that is actually fun
Believe it or not, a child’s first trip to the dentist can be fun, painless, and enjoyable. A child does not come into this life afraid of the dentist — but like the rest of us, they can fear the unknown. We make it known.

Our Approach
Making the unknown familiar
At our office we make a special effort to use language that is friendly and easily understood. We know how to describe any diagnosis or treatment in a non-frightening manner. We want you and your child to feel at ease from the moment you arrive in our waiting room.
Dr. Justin Jones brings a year of experience from a pediatric clinic in Denver, Colorado, and both of our dentists treat patients of any age with a smile. We take extra time with younger patients who are visiting for the first time.
Regular checkups every six months, added to a solid home hygiene routine, are the best way to keep your child’s teeth clean, strong, and free of cavities.

Growing Smiles
From first tooth to permanent smile
Between six and twelve months your child’s first teeth begin to appear, and they continue coming through until about age three. Gums will likely feel sore — you can ease this by rubbing a finger or a cool, damp cloth across them, and some children enjoy a teething ring.
When teething finishes, your child should have twenty primary teeth. These are shed at various times through childhood. Permanent teeth begin appearing at age six and continue until about age twenty, when an adult has twenty-eight permanent teeth plus four wisdom teeth.
Infant & Toddler Visits
Short, gentle familiarization visits starting around the first birthday.
Sealants & Fluoride
Protective treatments applied as permanent molars come in around ages six and twelve.
Cavity Treatment
Comfortable, kid-appropriate fillings when decay is caught early.
Growth Monitoring
Tracking eruption and spacing so orthodontic timing is never missed.
